The Unsexy Idea That Quietly Made $60K

Happy Friday ☕️

Were 2/12 months into 2026 already, how.

Anyway… It seems like everyone wants to build something sexy 💁‍♀️

Meanwhile, thousands of small businesses are sitting on money they already paid for 💸

And doing absolutely nothing with it!

Let’s talk about it.

💡The Idea: Start a service that reactivates old customer databases for small businesses.

In plain english

Take their old customer list.
Send email + SMS campaigns.
Drive re engagement / bookings.
Take a cut.

That’s the business.

No inventory.
No paid ads.
No product development.

How This Turns Into Cash Flow 💸

Most small businesses:

• Have 1,000–10,000 past customers
• Have never properly marketed to them again
• Don’t AB test offers
• Don’t automate follow-up

They all have customer lists. (I’d put money on it )

They just don’t use them.

Which means the asset exists.

The system doesn’t.

Mic drop…

Here’s the Numbers

Recently, I spoke with the owner of an indoor golf simulator that offers lessons. About 8,000 emails in the database. They quote on quote “send out some half ass promos every now and then.”

They’re collecting emails like phone numbers at a bar. Fun to get. Zero execution. No second date.☎️

Let’s say you run an email or text campaign:

2% ask for a lesson → 160 leads.
Close 50% → 80 lessons.
Average job = $150.

💵 $12,000 revenue. Take 10% as a fee and you just made $1,200 for sending an email or a text.

Imagine doing this for 5 businesses…

💵 Thats $6000. You’re welcome, rent paid.

How to price this: (BTW I’m spitballing here)

Three clean pricing models:

  1. 10–20% of revenue generated

  2. Flat fee ($1k–$3k per campaign)

  3. Hybrid: minimum + rev share

Or…

Be slightly ballsy and run the first one free.

Not because you’re desperate.

Because once you make someone $30–50k, you’re not the “email guy” anymore.

They’ll start throwing money at you.

Except you’re not on a stage in Vegas.

[IMPORTANT] What You’re Actually Selling!

You’re not selling “email marketing.” That’s a very different pitch. You’re not asking them to risk money either.

How I’d Actually Build This

The Actual Tech Stack

🧰 You don’t need 17 tools and a Notion diagram that looks like a subway map.

The campaign Engine (Where emails + SMS go out)

From experience, GoHighLevel is usually cleanest.

You can manage multiple businesses and clone campaigns between accounts.

If I want unfiltered opinions from people who have actually used it, I go to Reddit. Here’s a thread on GHL. I’m sure there are plenty more.

📝 The List Intake (The Only Thing You Actually Need From Them)

If they say, “We don’t know where it is,” which rarely happens. Just send simple CSV export instructions.

These are the most common platforms businesses keep the list in.

Square.
Stripe.
Calendly.

Five minutes later, you’ll have the file.

The Offer Layer (This is where the 💵 💵 is)

Before you send anything, you engineer the offer.

Not “10% off.” That’s lazy.

You split test and see what converts.

• “Buy 2 lessons, get 1”
• Birthday discount on Swing tips!
• Limited time swing clinic

Now here’s the leverage:

If one indoor golf simulator responds well to a “Birthday discount on Swing tips!” campaign…

There’s a very high chance the next simulator in the same climate will too.

Same niche.
Same psychology.

The Intern That Never Sleeps

Here’s how to scale this idea from a job into a business. ⏳

This could literally run while you sleep 🛌

Lets say your running this for 5 businesses:

You’re logging into 5 dashboards.
Upload CSVs.
Send campaigns.
Check replies.
Screenshot results.
Send updates.

Congrats, you invented a job.

Now, full disclaimer ⚠️
This is just an idea.

But I’d be very curious to see the implementation of something like ClaudeBot / OpenClaw 🤖

A system that can operate your computer like an above-average intern.

No smoke breaks 🚬
No “quick question” Slack messages.
No disappearing after lunch.

Just leverage and quicker execution.

If you’re not familiar with ClaudeBot / OpenClaw, here’s the cliff notes version of what this thing can actually do 👇

Thats a wrap, what’s Your Opinion

Alright, thats a wrap guys
